Due to the extremely dry conditions, a Fire Ban has been imposed for all of the Town of Redwater as follows:
- PROHIBITS the issuance of fire permits
- CANCELS all outstanding fire permits issued.
- EXTINGUISH all outdoor fires presently burning, whether set under the authority of a fire permit or not
- DISALLOWS any campfires
The total burning ban means that there are absolutely no outdoor fires permitted including: recreational bonfires, burn barrels, incinerator fires, smudge fires, fire pits, chimeneas etc. Gas and propane BBQ's are not included in this fire ban.
A person who sets a fire or who fails to adhere to the rules will be responsible for the costs of extinguishing the fire and will be fined pursuant to the Town of Redwater Fire Service Bylaw 733.
This ban came into effect May 17, 2012.
When a total fire ban is issued by the Town of Redwater the public will be notified in one of four ways:
- a notice will be placed on the Town community sign,
